Melbourne goes stab happy

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of stabbings in Melbourne lately?

What's in Melbourne's water supply? Or maybe it's all the closed roads for the Commonwealth Games causing major stress. I guess when it takes four hours to get home to the burbs, you're about ready to stab someone???

And if anyone wants to know why I'm not blogging at all about the commgames, it's because I've had to write a fair bit about it in my other life, and it's just boring me to snorts. I'd rather eat my ear wax than write one more press release about how fantastic it all is.

On second thoughts, I'd rather eat Ron Walker's ear wax.

Sorry bout that,
12 stabbings in 6 days does diminish the appetite.

Oh, you were referring to the ear wax thing...

"boring me to snorts"

What a great phrase. Sorry to hear about the stabbings. We don't get many of those here. Most of our nut jobs go straight for the high caliber rage.

Marius - we don't have too many high calibre, which does keep the victim numbers down in the stab-ratios.

Woke up to news this morning of another stabbing. I think that's 14 stabbings in 7 days.

Better get back to the lab and check my stockpile of patented ga-ga-juice, make sure nobody's slipped it into the water supply while I wasn't looking.

Well we have old folks popping off in their homes and race riots in the streets!!

Give me random stabbers i say...well no, not really, keep them there on second thoughts, we have enough raving loons for the whole country right here.

On a really hot night, if you park at the car park opposite Scienceworks in Spotswood - which also happens to be next to the jetty where "the punt" goes from = and follow the path to the jetty, you will see a little rotunda where it's very relaxing to have a little picnic with wine and guitars and huuuuuge container ships grumbling tectonically past.

That's why I'm glad they've caught the random stabber who stabbed someone at this spot. So I can still go there.

At night, there are plenty of fisherpeople on the jetty so it is relaxed and not at all scary.

Hehehe, and I know that a former footballer used to be regularly seen near the Spotters Wood to get dinner with "all the fixin's".

Maybe one day I'll spill the beans.
